2014 was a great year for Saber Basketball! The Sabers qualified for the state tournament for only the 4th time in school history. At the state tournament, the Sabers defeated MOC-Floyd Valley in the first round 69-67. In the second round the Sabers played the defending state champions, Waverly-Shellrock and advanced to the finals with a 56-54 victory. In the championship game the Sabers played some great basketball, but came up short and were defeated by Dubuque Wahlert 67-57. The Sabers ended the year with a 23-4 record which tied for the most wins in a season, a WaMaC Conference Championship, and the Class 3A State Runner Up. We were also extremely proud to earn the State Sportsmanship Award at the State Tournament! Proud to be a Saber!!
